Welcome to the new year.

This term we are exploring ‘Our Community’. What makes up a community and what we need to make a safe and strong community.

Today we were lucky enough to have some members from our sporting community come and visit.

Tom and Bailey from the Western Bulldogs came and ran a clinic in the gym and then after lunch the guys came in and did a question and answer. Read below to see what the kids thought of the visit.

The Fresh Food Ladies Visit Pod 2

Today Caroline and Teesha from the Melbourne Fresh Food Market came and spoke to the Pod 2 students. They gave us lots of information about fruit, fruit growers, wholesalers and what they do. They spoke about how to store our fruit and vegetables and the good bugs that help our fruit grow. We learnt about the difference between a  fruit and a vegetable and a herb. Did you know that a banana is actually a herb? We all should be eating at least 2 serves of fruit a day and 5 serves of vegetables to keep our bodies healthy. We got to sample some of the yummy fruits and vegetables at the end too. YUM!!!

What did you learn today?

What was your favourite fruit or vegetable to try?

What can you do to help keep your body and mind healthy?

Welcome back to a new school year.

We look forward to another fun year.

Romancing the Skull

Today Pod 2 were lucky enough to go to the Ballarat Fine Gallery to see the exhibition, ‘Romancing the Skull’. The Artlink program facilitated art activities as well as some riveting stories told by Anne Stewart, which all the students were enthralled by. It was a fantastic opportunity for our Pod and was enjoyed by all.

Were you lucky enough to particiate in today’s excursion? If so, what was your favourite part of the day? Why?
