On Monday the 22nd and Tuesday the 23rd of July Grade fives from YPCC went to Sovereign Hill to experience what it was like to go to school on the goldfields in the 1850s. We had to dress up in clothes from the 1850s.

Some of the activities we got to experience were: going underground in the mine, bowling, gold panning, shopping, watching a gold bar being made in the smelting works.

The school we went to is called St Alipius digging school the schoolWas made out of logs and had a canvas roof.

My favourite part was exploring on my own.
