Today in our Math investigation your challenge is to use the TimeMonster site to explore telling the time and then report back what you have found out.
Our learning intention today is to be able to tell the time to the quarter hour so…quarter past, half past and quarter to. You have 20 minutes to explore this site and then you task is to click on the comment button and share with the Pod what you have learnt about telling the time.
Good luck.
I know how to tell o clock times. The big hand (minute) points to the 12 and the hour hand (small) points right to the hour number.
An o’clock time is when the minute hand points straight up at the to the top (twelve).
I now how to tell half past the big hand points at the 6 and the little hand points in betwen aney number.
the clock hasd two sides the past side and the twos side.
I learnt how to tell half past the miniute hand will be on six and the big hand will be between two numbers.

There are two sides to a clock – when the minute hand is on the to side we say quarter to.
I have learnt that o’ clock is when the minute hand is on the twelve and the hour hand is on any number.
Hi Chloe, Great job. I wonder if you can teach me how to tell quarter past and quarter to? Trish
I learnt that o’clock it is when the big hand points
at 12 and what the little hand points at a hour
number.
I learnt today I can tell half past. if the minute hand points to the six it is half past and to tell half past what the hour hand points half way through the numbers. So if the hour hand is half way between the 4 and 5 it is half past 4.
I know how to tell half past the big hand points 6 and the little hand points in betwen any number.
I learnt to tell the time o’clock on the clock – the big hand points to 12 (minute) the hour hand points to hour number.
I learnt how to tell the time. I need to do some more work on this but I liked the game. I just need more practise.
