We’re only five weeks in to the new school year, yet we have already learnt so much, and shared so much about who we are as a person; our personality traits, our likes and dislikes as well as our real strengths as a learner (thanks to the Multiple Intelligence test).
With all of this new found knowledge it’s time for us get really creative and imagine our selves as a super hero, ready to save the world with our super learner strengths….
But really, first things first, what will your super hero name be??? What about your trusty sidekick’s???
I found these great graphics to help us get our name. Just remember- you must put your firstname somewhere in your name…
Please, comment with your name below!
Need more inspiration?? Meet Melvin Beederman…
A big thanks to Trupanion and Freeflys for such great graphics
This week in our ‘About Me’ Literacy unit we’re learning how to do cinquain poems about ourselves. This fits in nicely after last week we learnt about our strengths as learners through the Multiple Intelligence test.
Cinquain poems – which, by the way, is pronounced “sin-cane,”
-are just five lines long. The first and last lines have just one word, while the middle lines 2, 3 and 4 words.
Oh, and if you’re interested in having a go of one yourself- this template might help to get you started.
This week we all took the Multiple Intelligence test to find out what type of smart we are and how we learn best. We found out that we are not all the same. Some of us are sport smart, music smart, some are word smart, picture smart and a few more. What type of smart are you? How do you know?
Today was ‘World stay safe online’ day where teachers, students and whole school communities participated in a range of activities to help all users to understand how to ‘stay safe online’.
Check out this free video from BrainPOP and maybe leave a comment telling others one thing you do to stay safe online.
This week we’re off to Cottage by the Sea in Queenscliff, Victoria. A great camp experience offered to school aged kids, just like us!!

As a Pod we go on this camp at the start of each year. It’s a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and start to see what kind of people we are on the inside and how we can best work together.
We get to work on team skills, leadership, co-operation, being organised and we do this with lots of fun activities like swimming, surfing and personal challenges.
What did you love doing at camp? What was challenging and how did you cope with this? Let everyone know by clicking on the comment button. We’d love to know what you loved so that we can continue to build on this great opportunity.
